Nearly a week after the destructive EF-2 tornado and storms in Delta, Missouri, the Delta R-5 Schools resumed classes on Wednesday. In honor of Whitewater Fire Protection District Chief Garry Moore, Gov. Mike Kehoe ordered U.S. and Missouri flags be flown at half-staff at government buildings in Cape Girardeau County, the Fire Fighters Memorial of Missouri in Kingdom City, and firehouses statewide on Thurs. April 10, from sunrise to sunset.

The fires are primarily in Wayne, Reynolds, and Iron Counties, with some scattered throughout the Ozarks. The fires started before a tornado, with high fire weather conditions contributing.
